In the third season of Ancient Superstructures, we delve into the more legendary ancient structures to decipher their secrets. These monuments impress with their immense size and remarkable architecture.
How and why were they built, what makes them significant, and how have they survived the centuries ? Beyond the superficial appearance, what are the mysteries that surround them ? In aerial and satellite images, using Lidar to reveal the terrain on which they are built, we explore each structure, before moving in closer to film on a microscopic scale, to understand the materials used and the challenges of soil, ageing, and preservation.
