剧情简介：Used as a propaganda tool to highlight Joseon people's dutiful role as taxpayers of Imperial Japan, this silent feature film tells the story of a young man who launches a tax collection campaign for the construction of the town's bridge. Inspired by his speech, the townspeople quickly make their tax payment - except for Mr. Kwon, the richest man in town. Ashamed of his father's ignorance, his son Hak Ryul decides he will make the payment himself without telling his father. But suspecting foul play, the father tails after the son and ends up witnessing his own son's accidental death. In repentance, he donates all of his wealth to the government.
