影片剧情根据真人真事改编，讲述了哈萨克科学家、作家和公众人物阿迪·沙里波夫的战斗历程——从第一次参战到身负重伤。在二战期间，他在白俄罗斯森林中当了28个月的游击队员，战友们都称呼他为哈萨克的萨沙。该片由哈萨克斯坦文化和体育部下令、在该国国家电影制作中心的协助下拍摄完成。

In the last days of August 1941, one of the greatest maritime disasters in history took place off the northern coast of Estonia. Fleeing the invading Germans, the Soviet authorities hastily and panickedly carried out the evacuation of Tallinn. The remnants of the Red Army units, fleeing Red Army personnel, as well as mobilized Estonians and civilians were placed on more than two hundred ships, either voluntarily or forcibly. In total, over 30,000 people. The line of ships headed for Kronstadt and Leningrad, but they ran into a trap set by the German and Finnish navies near the Juminda Peninsula. 60 ships sank in mine explosions, torpedoes and aircraft bombs, and an estimated 15,000 people died, including thousands of Estonians. The film reveals how the terrible catastrophe of Juminda has been depicted, silenced, minimized or heroized in later historical accounts.

A small radio station is saved of getting bankrupt by a backer, who invests money for a TV equipment, if the owner allows, that his dancing daughter Annabelle can dance and sing on the screen, but due to her voice, her singing had to be dubbed by the owner's girl friend Pat Abbott.But problems start, when the owner starts dating Annabelle.

On June 14, 1941, 15,424 Latvians were deported from their country, including about 4,000 infants, children and adolescents. Many of the youngest died on the way, others died later from starvation, disease and over work in the Soviet camps. Some of the deported children survived and returned to Latvia, others remained in Siberia for their whole lives. Dzintra Geka's latest documentary "Road to Siberia, 1941" is an emotional account about those deportees who grew up in Siberia, far from their homeland.

Graduating from VGIK in 1952, Khutsiyev was among the first wave of filmmakers to emerge during the Soviet thaw. He remains one of Russia's greatest living directors. After the critical and popular success of Spring on Zarechnaya Street, his next major film-- eventually titled I am Twenty--underwent years of state-ordered rewrites, re-edits, and reshoots. Complicating the thaw's liberal reputation, Khrushchev himself ordered some of the changes. While not as frank or experimental as originally intended, the completed film is still a deeply sympathetic contemporary drama. It won a Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. He made a number of notable films in the sixties and seventies, particularly July Rain, and also worked for Soviet television. He returned to feature filmmaking in 1992 with Infinity, which won several awards at the Berlin Film Festival, and he's currently working on a film based on the lives of Tolstoy and Chekhov.

電影以1941年香港淪陷作為時代背景，全香港班底拍攝，不過基於要呈現出1941年的香港，部分場景也要上大灣區拍攝，錢嘉樂強調是香港班底製作：「我想話俾全世界聽，我哋香港人仲做得嘅！」他感謝監製、編劇、製片等，指電影已洽談近一年，未收一分一毫，陳德森說十分感恩有香港動作電影，才成就了自己，故很想回饋這個圈，目前電影在審批當中，希望今年內開拍：「因為出年香港回歸30周年，廣東省、佛山政府好支持，呢部戲係獻給回歸。」
