可青不願屈就社會對女性的刻板期待，為了追求事業選擇墮胎。世彥不滿妻子將事業置於家庭之前，兩人的婚姻產生裂痕。可青讓世彥與小三同住，但世彥仍多次到可青公司鬧事，然而這些都不減可青對於事業的熱忱。暗戀可青的程東積極為她抱不平，面對世彥的騷擾、程東的過份關心，以及蒸蒸日上的事業，可青會如何取捨呢？ 本片透過秦祥林與歸亞蕾飾演的夫妻，帶領觀眾省思何謂婚姻關係，還有性別刻板印象為女性帶來的桎梏。片中男性角色對可青的窺視與瘋狂愛慕，更呈現出日常生活中，女性如何在男性凝視下被物化。劇中可青的處境亦為台灣70年代後隨著工業化發展，婦女投身職場的縮影。上述情節亦可作為今昔對照，女性在婚姻與職場的角色衝突下仍處於困境。
