Each episode has Rocco DiSpirito judging four aspiring chefs to see if they have what it takes to impress at a private dinner party attended by his discriminating guests. The chefs are asked to create their favorite dish, then a themed appetizer and then a complete menu for the dinner party. After each task, one chef will be eliminated.

A mixture of cooking tips and off-beat comedy, the show features chef Ken Kostick and his often-wacky sidekick, actress (and sous chef) Mary Jo Eustace as they cook fast meals in between trading banter and good-natured insults.

It shows the process of two people meeting, becoming lovers, and transforming into a dining experience.
