The Duke is an American mini series that aired shown on NBC from April 5 to May 18, 1979.

“Duke “ London is a ex-prizefighter who has taken his winnings and bought a nightclub. Everyday creates new situations for him to deal with. Gloria is his girl and Johnny his former manager who tries to get Duke back as a boxer.

Chronicling the life of Arthur Wellesley the first duke of Wellington, who faced down Napoleon's armies at Waterloo, and served as prime minister.

Duke Ellington at the piano conducts a group of puppet perfume bottles playing his "Perfume Suite."

The Conqueror (1956) starred John Wayne as Genghis Khan. Shooting took place downwind from a nuclear testing site and close to half the cast & crew developed cancer, including "The Duke" himself. This video looks at “conquest” in past and present media, fiction and non-fiction, and the “compression” of these experiences into mediated forms.

Cathy Lane, teen-aged daughter of a globe-trotting journalist, comes to live at the home of her uncle, a newspaper editor in New York City. Curiously, Cathy is the spitting image of her uncle's daughter, Patty. Appearances aside, however, the urbane Cathy is nothing like her cousin Patty, who is the typical American teenager.

Ralph Graves plays a cabaret singer who is mistaken for a duke while courting society girl Ruth Taylor.
