The short was reconstructed from film and audio elements; images from Jim’s storyboard fill in missing segments of the animation.

The Grape Dutches of York are a sketch comedy troupe, based out of Astoria, NY. The Dutches first came into existence back in 2008, when it was a small 5 man group with a passion to make stupid shorts. These 5 set out to make up sketches that they found inappropriate and funny. But with time, jobs, other projects, and social obligations, the group fell by the wayside. Only to be revived again in late 2011 as a larger troupe, the newly re-formed Dutches were resurrected with some original members and added a great cast of characters. This incarnation of the Dutches has the same goal: to make sketches that they find funny, off-centered, and slightly edgy.

吉伯特一家住在一个叫做恩多拉的小镇，那里的居民极少。吉伯特的家里有一个患肥胖症的母亲、智障的弟弟、爱美的妹妹和持家的姐姐。 　　在吉伯特每天的生活中，最重要的工作就是照顾智障的弟弟阿尼。他带着阿尼去玩，带着阿尼去上工，带着阿尼去送货，还得负责帮他洗澡，照顾他上床睡觉。阿尼就像他身旁的一个警报器一样，随时会出其不意的铃声大做，令所有的人提心吊胆。但是吉伯特却将他捧在手心，对他十分呵护。阿尼喜欢攀登高的东西，无论是家门口的大树，或是小镇里矗立的发电塔，为了吸引别人的注意，他喜欢做别人不敢做的事，弄得大家鸡飞狗跳。而镇里所有的人对此早已司空见惯，看阿尼危险的举动就好像看马戏团的表演一样，只有吉伯特总是苦口婆心的劝诫这个麻烦的弟弟。 　　一次，阿尼又趁吉伯特不注意爬上了高大的发电机，吉伯特急急忙忙的赶到塔下，拿起扩音器对着弟弟唱起童谣：有一个男孩名叫阿尼……然而这并没唤回弟弟继续攀登的脚步，却引起了外地少女贝琪的注意，这也成了他们第一次的邂逅。 　　贝琪的出现无疑为吉伯特开启了另一扇人生的窗。这个来自不知名的地方、足迹遍及世界各地、满怀着新鲜前卫思想的女孩很快便占据了吉伯特的生活，令他心动不已。生活也随着与她的交往产生了变化。他变得更愿意与贝琪厮守在一起，而冷落了阿尼。 　　独自在街上闲逛的阿尼像个随时会引爆的炸弹，于是被警察暂时扣押了起来。而自从父亲死后就足不出户的母亲，为此亲赴警察局。在因为身形无比臃肿而历经众人嘲笑的眼光后，母亲撒手人寰。贝琪却在这时不断地询问吉伯特的意见，希望他能随她同去。但或许是缺乏改变现状的勇气，或许是对现实生活充满的无力感，也或许是他心中那个不安的因子──阿尼，吉伯特拒绝了贝琪的请求，又开始了原来平淡的生活。 后来在贝琪的再三要求下他答应了她的请求，她见到了他的母亲。　　在电影的结尾有很感人的一段镜头，他们的母亲用尽全身力气独自上到了二楼，这是她患上肥胖症之后从来没有过的，从她的孩子们惊奇的眼神可以看出来，他们搀扶她到床上休息，却没有想到这一睡就永远的睡过去了，第一个见到她死去的是阿尼，可是他只知道捶胸顿足，不知道怎么办，其他几个孩子看到他这样子才知道母亲离开了他们，但是麻烦也随之而来，因为母亲身体太臃肿，抬下来是不太可能了，只能用吊车，但是吉尔伯特认为以前母亲受尽镇上居民的白眼或者嘲笑，如果再这样做就太不尊重母亲了，后来他们决定让母亲和这座房子合为一体，化为灰烬。

深夜的機場，一名白牌車司機載到一位女乘客。車門關上的那一刻，他才發現她是多年未見的前女友。車子穿過城市夜色，沉默、爭執與往事在狹小車廂裡慢慢浮現。她趕往醫院見母親最後一面，他則早已成家，過著與夢想越來越遠的人生。短短一段車程裡，兩人重新面對那些當年沒有說出口的話。當車子停下，有些情感終於被理解，但有些人生，已經無法回頭。
