A marriage, broken by death, is kept alive by the memories held through grape soda.

Based on real gossip and violence. Vibrant colour invites us into a bat forest as someone waits, strips, for trade. A drummer is interviewed about a violent confrontation as he smashes his kit. A slim figure limps out of the darkness covered in blood to the sounds of New York's underground popstar Macy Rodman. A car bangs along an old dirt road and picks up stragglers, lost overnight who seem less affected than maybe they should be considering... Grape Steak is a wishfully ambient portal, a love-poem of trauma and humiliation set in Sydney, a slow comedy for a come-down, made resourcefully and communally over five years.

ALEXANDER THE GRAPE, an unfinished cut-paper animated short from Jim Henson from 1965, relates the fable of a young grape with big ambitions who learns that it is better to accept yourself than to try to be something you are not. The short was reconstructed from film and audio elements; images from Jim’s storyboard fill in missing segments of the animation.

The Grape Dutches of York are a sketch comedy troupe, based out of Astoria, NY. The Dutches first came into existence back in 2008, when it was a small 5 man group with a passion to make stupid shorts. These 5 set out to make up sketches that they found inappropriate and funny. But with time, jobs, other projects, and social obligations, the group fell by the wayside. Only to be revived again in late 2011 as a larger troupe, the newly re-formed Dutches were resurrected with some original members and added a great cast of characters. This incarnation of the Dutches has the same goal: to make sketches that they find funny, off-centered, and slightly edgy.
