Henri, a basically honest fellow, accepts to work for a gang of burglars only to revenge himself on Fournier-Salville, a wealthy businessman who once ruined him. His role will be to become Fournier-Saville's majordomo and at the same time to inform the burglars so as to facilitate their work. But once in the house he performs his task so well and so stylishly that he becomes indispensable. Moreover, Eve, the businessman's capricious daughter, does not remain insensible to his charms...

A couple attempts to reconnect over the course of an evening but the night has other plans for them.

A ten year old Protestant girl travels to Belfast to take part in a music festival, and is billetted with a Catholic family.

A father is racked with guilt because he let his wife die in a boating accident, so that he could save his daughter. The girl is now in a hospital, recovering from the effect of losing her mother.

This short film is a series of vignettes of life in Saint-Henri, a Montreal working-class district, on the first day of school. From dawn to midnight, we take in the neighbourhood’s pulse: a mother fussing over children, a father's enforced idleness, teenage boys clowning, young lovers dallying - the unposed quality of daily life.

On August 26th, 2010, fourteen filmmakers followed multiple stories in the Montreal neighbourhood of St-Henri. The result is a touching, funny and fascinating day-in-the-life of this eclectic community. Doris travels the streets collecting bottles; Belinda is a hair-stylist from Togo; Babyface, the 15 year old Canadian featherweight boxing champion prepares for a match; Robert and Edmee enjoy their golden years together; Danielle, an urban explorer, scales abandoned buildings and descends into St-Henri's sewers. 'St Henri, the 26th of August' is a film that asks what community means today, and how we inhabit our neighborhoods. Inspired by the 1962 ONF film, 'A St-Henri, le 5 septembre', this unique collaborative film brings together some of the brightest filmmakers in the contemporary Montreal documentary community.
