Memdidi tells a simple and endearing story of Mrs. Roy (Memdidi), who moves in as a new neighbor to the two local tough guys, Bahadur Singh (David) and Sher Khan (Jayant), with a heart of gold. Hrishikesh Mukherjee's direction and screenplay makes this movie a gem and worth watching again and again.

A famous Saigal musical narrating a strange love story set against 1930s industrialization and worker-management relations. The 16-year-old Prabhavati (Chandarbati Devi/Kumari) inherits a mill and turns it into an extremely profitable enterprise. Prakash (Saigal) is a worker who designs a more efficient machine for the factory for which he first gets sacked and then is re-employed. He falls in love with Prabhavati`s sister Sheila (Desai), who later makes way for Prabhavati who is also in love with Prakash. Her withdrawal distresses Prakash, causing her to bully the workers who then go on strike.

Indira Sharma is the only working member in a family of six. She is weighed down by the responsibility of providing for her whole family at a very young age.

Bipinchandra breaks family tradition by marrying a city girl, Hemangini, much to the chagrin of his sister-in-law, Kadambini, and her husband, Navinchandra. Things are delicate even after both women give birth to two children each. Then Hemangini testifies against Navinchandra in Court, leading to the division of the property. Things got worse by the arrival of Kadambini's orphaned school-going step-brother, Kishan, who is beaten and abused by not only by Kadambini and Navinchandra, but also by their overweight son. When Hemangini objects to Kishan's ill-treatment, Bipin takes the side of the rest of the family, and may probably force her to abandon Kishan to his fate or divorce her.

In two weeks absence of his wife, a young brilliant architect has to look after his two little girls as a clueless father. In the meantime he got a deadline of the most important project in his career.

This is a story of an orphaned child who is abducted from love and affection. During his childhood Kesto lost his parents and came to his step sister`s house. Nabin, his brother-in-law, was a selfish person who cared for his profit neglecting the villagers well-being. Where as his brother Bipin was kind from his heart and always thinks about the benefit of villagers.
