Adapted from the Stephen King short psychological thriller, 'Mute' is a story within a story about a man who picks up a hitchhiker and unwittingly enters into a murderous contract.

Monette, a recently separated travelling book salesman tells his grim story to both a priest and a hitchhiker, looking for absolution.

When we meet Eileen, we see her sabotaging her big sister's wedding. We find out that she blames her older sister, Claire for a car accident that has left her deaf and mute.

Monika is raging. Monika is on the run. Monika is trying to escape from husband Richard. Her destination is Venice. Her partner in crime is Nema, a mute hitchhiker. Nema pushes Monika to follow her path relentlessly. Until Richard catches up and Monika has to fight for her freedom. Who is the man, whom Monika is will-lessly following? Who is the strange hitchhiker? How can Monika regain control?

Monette, a middle-aged salesman, picks up a deaf/mute hitchhiker on the road. The hitchhiker falls asleep and Monette vents his problems knowing they fall on deaf ears. He rants about his wife’s infidelity and her embezzlement from her employer. Monette thinks nothing of this encounter until two days later his wife and her lover are found murdered.

This is a four-part drama following the story of Yegor and Nastya. He is the son of a jailed criminal and she is an artist desperate to give her caring love to somebody who could appreciate it. After a divorce from her husband, Nastya’s dream of becoming a mother crumble to pieces. Her only chance is adoption and Yegor is the perfect boy for her… There is only one problem, the boy is being monitored by the mob.

The little boy receives the last instruction from his mother: now he will have to take care of a deaf father who has problems with alcohol, because in fact, dad is a samurai who has made a vow of silence and needs a mentor ... When a representative of guardianship authorities comes to them, little a family of two is on the verge of separation.
