Manta Okamoto is a strange young man. He is prone to spontaneous tantrums. On the verge of hikikomori, he faces reality through numbers and with a brain full of crisp ideas. He’s also the most creative editor in the magazine where he works, even if he’s always late. One day, one of his seniors at the publishing house offers him a job: he could earn a lot of money just by taking care of a cardboard box for a few days. On the other side of town, a group of gangsters are missing something and will do anything to get it back.

Taro Okamoto (1911-1996), one of Japan's most famous artists, traveled to Okinawa in 1959 and 1966. The reason for these trips was his journey to rediscover Japan, in search of his identity as a Japanese person. More than 60 years ago, Okamoto captured the "poignant tenderness of life" of the people, and concluded: "It is in Okinawa that we can find the lost. In Okinawa, I rediscovered myself for the first time." This documentary goes on a journey through Okinawa led by Okamoto himself, 50 years after Okinawa's reversion to Japan.

The protagonist TAROMAN engages in surreal and nonsensical interactions while battling strange creatures. The creatures confronting him are brought to life from the work of artist Taro Okamoto, such as "Sprinting Eye" and "Sulking Child". An action-packed tokusatsu tribute to one of Japan's most influential painters and sculptors!
