The story of a child abandoned at birth who is shunted around from foster family to foster family. Despite numerous pitfalls along the way, Olivier courageously and tenaciously learns to be confident about life, to accept the inevitable transitions and to hope for the better. His firm objective is to turn 18, be independent at last and have some control over his life without being beholden to anyone.

Christina is nearly 30 and lives in the region of Charleroi in Belgium with her boyfriend Marco. After the death of her grandmother, she inherits a house in Corsica. No one in Christina’s entourage knows how her grandmother came to own the house and her family puts pressure on her to sell it. Christina refuses and sets off alone to claim her inheritance, hoping to understand why her grandmother left her the house. Her life will never be the same again...

Laurence Olivier Presents is a British television series made by Granada Television which ran from 1976 to 1978.The plays, with the exception of Hindle Wakes, all starred Laurence Olivier. Some of the plays were based on productions staged at the National Theatre during the period when Olivier was Artistic Director. In addition to distinguished English actors, the casts assembled for these productions included several Hollywood stars, such as Natalie Wood, Robert Wagner, Joanne Woodward and Maureen Stapleton.
