Premi loved Lailajaan and one day he finds out that she works at a brothel. Later Premi finds out that Lailajaan was an ordinary dancer and he tries to win her back.

古典舞大师 Mangal 在一座华宅举办的舞会上邂逅了女舞者 Neela（由 Sandhya Shantaram 饰演）。大师让儿子 Girdhar（Gopi Krishna 饰）当场表演舞蹈。Neela 被 Girdhar 的精湛技艺所折服，于是请求 Mangal 收她为徒。大师提出两个条件：一是 Neela 必须将一生奉献给艺术，二是她要在即将举行的坦达罗舞蹈大赛中与 Girdhar 搭档。两人一同练习后，Neela 爱上了 Girdhar。 与此同时，富有的反派 Manilal 对 Neela 心怀不轨。Mangal 大师外出购置新的演出服装，期间 Neela 和 Girdhar 相互表白，陷入热恋，从而疏于练习。Mangal 回来后，发现两人相爱了。此时 Girdhar 的舞蹈水平大幅下滑，可能无法获得“婆罗多舞王”（Bharat Natarajan）的称号。Mangal 怒不可遏，打算赶走儿子。Neela 担心自己影响了 Girdhar 的事业，……

Premi is a bachelor who has re-located from distant Uttar Pradesh to Bombay, and makes a living selling poems to a wealthy man by the name of Benni. While visiting Goddess Durga Devi's temple, he sees an attractive young woman and instantly falls in love with her. Subsequently he finds out that she is a courtesan named Laila-Jaan. When he does venture into the dance hall, he finds out that she is singing his very poem that he had penned for Benni, and then he witnesses Benni himself as one of her clientèle. He gets himself hired by Laila-Jaan just to be close to her. He finds out that she is contemptuous of married women and regards herself much more superior than them. When the Thakur of Rajgarh invites her to sing and dance at his son's wedding, she goes there to perform. It is here she will find out that the ordinary women, she loathes, have nothing but hatred for her and her kind. Confused and surprised, she wants to give up her life as a courtesan.

While Rural India is still suffering with shortage of Water, men are marrying multiples times to be able to gather more water for themselves. Is it due a lack of water or mere thirst of desires masking this unusual tradition?
