The life of a man from an aristocratic family that faces love and death during the Saltpeter War.

La Paz is the story of Liso, a young man who emerges from a psychiatric institution and tries to re-adapt to daily life in the universe of his middle class family and neighborhood. Though everything seems difficult, under the surface and very subtly things start to change for him.

The Paraíba backlands during the civil-military dictatorship of the 1960s. The boy Teobaldo faces the struggle between desire and repression when an enigmatic American researcher arrives at the Research Center of the National Department of Works Against Drought (DNOCS).
