A scientist has created life but now his star pupil is getting too big for its jar.

The Pupil is a Singaporean drama series on MediaCorp Channel 5. The show revolves around the legal profession. It gives us a sneak peek into the world of Singaporean lawyers and the cases they take on as civil litigators. The second season premiered on 18 August 2011.

Daan (12) is obsessed with football. Like his three brothers, he plays at the local club. The coolest and nicest coach at the club is Ries (35). He is devoted to the players and on friendly terms with their parents. Slowly but surely, Daan's relationship with Ries turns into a secret affair. The urge to keep it a secret makes him increasingly more lonely. When the relationship is discovered and is out in the open, Daan is mortified. Suddenly he has a new problem: he has to fight the harsh reactions from his community and his own shame.

In September 2002 the famous Russian conductor Valery Gergiev gave some master classes in Rotterdam to three young, and talented, but just starting colleagues. Under Gergiev's supervision the three aspiring conductors were asked to conduct the Rotterdam Youth Philharmonic Orchestra in a demanding programme of two works by Scriabin - "Poem of Ecstasy" and "Prometheus".
