Anna is a surgeon and, like her husband Gunnar, works at the hospital in a small town in the Mecklenburg Lake District. They have built a good life here with their son. Anna is torn out of her usual routine when a child suddenly suffers an allergic shock after a routine operation, which was triggered by an antibiotic that Anna had not been given. A medical mystery for Anna until she finds out that the clinic has a massive hygiene problem. The more unpleasant truths Anna uncovers, the more hostile she becomes. Anna is faced with decisions of conscience that could bring down everything she has built up so far.

Back then they were just friends, now they are a couple: "Mothers, Fathers, Children" is the sequel to the comedy "How do I raise my mother?". This time it's about the joys and sorrows of the patchwork family: Ginger, the eternal flower child, has to look after her sick mother, neglects her boyfriend Hans and learns to appreciate nurse Laurens in return. Hans, on the other hand, is courted by Marianne, Ginger's daughter wants to meet her biological father, and son Max is deeply in love.

A mother is good. Several mothers at once are hell! Conny is 37 years old and has so far let her life being arranged by others - especially by her husband Lawrence. Lorenz has made the previous gray mouse, a trophy wife and offers her a carefree life. And so Conny falls from the clouds, when her husband announced her at dinner that he wants a divorce. Of necessity Conny pulls together the two children in the ancient house of Lorenz deceased mother and realized with horror that from now on everything will be different. Since it holds its own for non-viable, she clings to a clique of high-society mothers...

Manu is rescued and Michelle passes the drugs, which were hidden in her apartment, with delay of the police.
