Ryoko, a free-spirited 23-year-old woman, quits her job after being caught having an affair with a co-worker and finds herself on the street. She comes to Tokyo, relying on her aunt Moeko, a career woman who works as a manager at a major city bank. The two, who have completely different personalities, quarrel constantly whenever they see each other.

Naomi has known all her life that she will succumb to the same fate that has befallen her family for generations. Unlike her ancestors, who all made unmitigated fools of themselves trying to avoid the curse, Naomi has accepted her destiny and tells herself that she is ready.

A brave man decides to kidnap his friend's beloved from a forced marriage, but ends up abducting the wrong bride. Ironically, the bride he kidnapped is ecstatic because she was already planning an escape. On the run, they fall in love, but in order to get married, they must convince their families.

Nina is trying her luck in Surabaya after dropping out of school. She is forced to follow in the footsteps of her colleague, Vivi, who became a sex worker. On the first day of selling herselve, Nina has to flee from the pursuit of city police until, accidentally, she enters the Paskibra’s (Flag flying group) training center. In that place Nina meets with a veteran of historical actors, Pak Sakiran stirs Nina's nationalism. He makes Nina really want to fly the red and white flag in a flag ceremony.
