A writer loses a very important idea when her phone rings. Personified as golden light, this lost idea is found by the writer’s inner child, who takes us on a journey through The World of Imagination. It is easy to lose touch with this world, but each of us can be inspired by it—if we just remember.

在2014年，首批437具中国志愿军烈士遗骸归国，离开祖国60多年的烈士英灵终于得以回家。1950年，薛英杰、任红举等像花一样年轻的战士“雄赳赳、气昂昂、跨过鸭绿江”，奔赴抗美援朝出国作战的战场。志愿军战士身处恶劣而残酷的战场环境，面对武装到牙齿的对手，以“钢少气多”力克“钢多气少”，谱写惊天地、泣鬼神的雄壮史诗。 数年后，有些英雄儿女回来了；有些为了祖国、为了人民、为了和平献出了宝贵生命，永远地留在了异国那片陌生的土地上 。2018年，导演宋坤儒和有关部门合作一个以英雄为主题的宣传片《崇尚英雄》。在搜集素材的过程中，宋坤儒接触到了一些志愿军老战士，他们身上的故事、精神打动了他，与他们交谈，几度落泪。于是，他决定拍摄一部以志愿军老战士为题材的纪录片，用摄像机记录下这些老人的面孔，并让更多人知道他们的故事 。身边的朋友得知宋坤儒准备做这样的作品的时候，都发动政府民间的各种力量帮他寻找采访对象 。在寻找采访对象时，宋坤儒决定多找基层战士。他认为虽然基层战士可能没有显赫的功勋，但正因为有了这些普通战士才构成整个战争的胜利。宋坤儒的筛选标准是：老人一定要亲身经历过抗美援朝；他们的故事要有天然的戏剧性；老人的身体健康，思维、谈吐和情感表达能力较好；老人的讲述能人带来正能量和情感共鸣 。宋坤儒不是专业的纪录片导演，因此在采访时没有预设什么问题，基本上是请老人讲讲抗美援朝的故事，然后老人开始讲述，剧组一般不在中途打断。之所以想把采访做成纪录片在影院放映，也是源于宋坤儒想把他在采访现场听老兵讲述时的现场感和沉浸感传递给众 。就这样，他前前后后陆续采访了五十多位老兵，最终呈现在纪录片中的有26位。其中，年纪最小的85岁，最大的98岁 。
