Circa the Mughal rule in the Persian Gulf in Baghdad, the Badshah is killed by his very own brother, his wife put to death, and their new-born child is to be captured and killed by none other than his uncle. But Rustom-E-Baghdad, who has sworn to protect the Badshah and his family, abducts the child, and flees from the kingdom with the new Badshah`s soldiers hot on his trail. Mortally wounded on his death-bed, the Rustom asks his son, Dara, to take care of the young prince and ensure that he comes to no harm. Dara promises and watches sadly as his father passes away. Rustom works in a small government office in the countryside. Life for Rustom is wandering from place to place in the small town, spending time with Kapil who works on the suburban trains, living with the eccentricities of his boss, and being magically transported into his imaginary other world in the far reaches of this beautiful and lonely countryside which maybe undergoing a quiet upheaval that may disturb it's dark and mysterious worlds forever.

A Turkish mortician in his 30s, Baki is an introverted man content with his isolation from society. However, when he comes up against death at close range, a troubling question strikes him: who would wash his body after he dies? This realization pushes him to venture out into the world, hoping to connect with people and perhaps even find a spouse. Whoops Baghdad is a BBC television comedy programme first broadcast from 25 January to 1 March 1973.The series stars Frankie Howerd, and was similar to his earlier programme Up Pompeii!, with the setting moved from Ancient Rome to mediaeval Baghdad.
