Lana and Toni are a couple in a long-term relationship. Lana wants children and a large family, but Toni lives in his own world and shows no signs of wanting to take a step forward in their relationship. One day, Lana and her best friend Maja head to a castle where Toni's birthday party is supposed to be happening, but to their surprise, there is no one there. The situation gets even more complicated when they bump into Alex, Toni's best friend. As they are about to walk out of the castle, they come across a box with a very special surprise in it.

Depressive Toni is diagnosed with idlesness by his doctor who recommends more excitement and danger. Another patient, a celebrated detective who bears a striking resemblance to Toni, is diagnosed with exhaustion and told to rest. The two swap places but Toni's first client turns out to be an exiled princess whose jewels are about to be stolen by a ruthless gang and the amateur detective finds more thrills than he bargained for.

The protagonist, Toni, is a young man from a small village in the south of Italy who arrives at the station Gare de Lyon in Paris. He never questions the education he receives from his mob family or the rules to which he is always chained. He contacts a man called "The Old Man," a strange character discarded by the family who is of help from time to time. This man is supposed to communicate to Toni all necessary information for him to accomplish his mission. Toni plans to execute it in perfect calm. But things do not go according to plan. He meets Marie, a vulnerable journalist whose best friend has just committed suicide. Two doomed characters enter a mysterious relationship.
