Centuries have passed, yet they remain people of the forest, who consider bears and Amur tigers their mythological ancestors. This film tells the story of the simple yet remarkably rich life of the Udege people living in the most remote corners of the Far Eastern taiga. The heroines of this film are well past sixty, yet at heart they remain mischievous girls; despite all the hardships of life in the wilderness, they have preserved a youthful spirit, lightness of heart, a love of life, and the rare ability to find happiness in small things and rejoice in the simple — a quality so sorely missing in our modern world.
