In this captivating period series, the life and career of Mexican singer Vicente Fernández is dramatized like never before.

Still reeling from the loss of Irene, Vicente lives in the shadow of guilt. But when his buried past comes back to light, he must face what he’s tried to outrun, and decide if there’s still a way out.

Vicente, a young credit card salesman, is fired for his poor performance. Kike, his best friend, motivates him to look for a new job by enrolling him as an assistant on a farm where he is mistaken for the son of a friend of the owner, posing as him. Dana, daughter of the owner, falls in love with a false Vicente of high social class, which will lead him to confront the foreman of the El Ruso farm. Vicente must choose between Dana's love or returning to his past life.

The film was made upon the invitation of the Serralves Foundation in Porto for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Foundation and the 10th anniversary of its Museum. A reflection on the Painéis de São Vicente de Fora, a 16th-century masterpiece attributed to Nuno Gonçalves.
