桂木慎介は錦絵専門の貧乏画家。 彼には美佐代という若い後妻がいた。 彼らのもとにある日、画商の太田黒が来る。 彼はこれからは売れる枕絵を描いて欲しいと慎介に頼み、参考資料として春画集を置いていった。 翌日、美佐代は兄嫁・綾子から呼び出しを受ける。 綾子は美佐代の幸せだという言葉に疑念を露にし、慎介の悪口を言った。 美佐代は綾子に女として敵意を感じる。そんな時、慎介の内弟子・樫山が連れてきた若い女たちをモデルに、慎介は春画を描きあげた。 太田黒はその絵に満足しながらも、濃厚なまぐあい図がいいと、風俗上がりのモデル・紅子を紹介したのだが...

Enka singer Kirasei Aki (Kimito Ayumi), who cannot sell, will release a new song "Woman's Ibaramichi" for the first time in five years. This release was made possible by the efforts of Aki's manager Itabashi, but it was released on condition that it would be sold out within a month from the female president of the agency, Ayame (Rin Ogawa). On the other hand, the idol of the same agency, Asuka Kojima (Yume Ayanami), has grown into a hot seller with the momentum to drop flying birds, coupled with the pillow business to music producer Teddy Saito. Naturally, Ayame was looking for a chance to fire Aki, who had been smoldering for seven years...

Followed by two guys in a van, two girls find themselves in a secluded country house. Then, they are forced to dine with a perverted grandpa on a wheelchair.

A story of romance between the girls and guests at a hot spring resort, the film`s freshness and freedom was in welcome contrast to Impotent`s heavy-handed moodiness. The star of the film, actress Yasuko Matsui, was Kobayashi`s wife. She starred in or appeared in many of Kobayashi`s films of the 1960s. The popularity of this film inspired the studio– Mutsukuni Eiga– to make a quick sequel. However this second film departed from the original`s story, lacked director Kobayashi and Yasuko Matsui, and was not well-received

葛飾北斎、喜多川歌麿ら名だたる浮世絵師たちが並々ならぬ情熱を注いだ春画。「美」「技」において超一級の芸術と呼べる作品が数多く生み出されたが、時代が江戸から明治に変わると“猥褻画”として取り締まりの対象となり、日本文化から姿を消してしまった。しかし昨今は出版物や展覧会を通して再評価の機運が高まり、2015年開催の「春画展」に触発されて企画された劇映画「春画先生」も10月13日に公開される。
