在繁华大都会东京一隅，经营着一家似乎颇有历史的杂货店。店老板是位戴着厚厚眼镜、胡子拉碴的老爷爷。他没有过多的言语，而对顾客品位的判断似乎自有一套办法。进门的铃声响起，三个高中女生叽叽喳喳拥了进来，她们讨论凶杀电影等等时尚元素，嘴里说个不停却脑中空空。在老爷爷的眼里，她们也就是5日元、10日元的价格。稍后，一位衣着光鲜的小哥走了进来，他熟悉各种唱片的典藏版及其价值，在那一刻老爷爷仿佛见到了厚厚的一叠大钞，可惜小哥也有不可忽视的缺点。之后又来了两个朋克装扮的年轻人，老爷爷根据各自的言论也做了一番评估。
