刘恭正（段奕宏饰）：民族实业家，在旧上海创造了一个“大世界”的奇迹。但最终还是敌不过命运，在一场繁花梦飘逝之后，妻离子散，家破人亡，只落得两手空空，面对一个爱和恨交织了一辈子的情人韩如冰。刘恭正和韩如冰两人之间既爱又恨、既疏又亲、充满了相惜与相斥、误解与理解、分道扬飙与重修旧好的几十年恩怨情缘。 顾业成（吴秀波饰）：在黑白两道间如鱼得水，既心狠手辣又仗义疏财，既贪赃枉法又盗亦有道，成功地凭借租界这块温床，在几十年的时间里从一个不起眼的小流氓变成了鼎鼎大名威震一方的上海大亨。 佟光夫（赵铮饰）：深受西方金融思想熏陶的佟光夫从开办小银行做起，后来成为国内着名的金融家和国民政（螃蟹）府的财政大员韩如冰（左小青饰）：刘恭正、顾业成、佟光夫三人少年时代的同窗，侠骨柔肠，却又性情乖张的奇女子。因家道中落被后母卖入清和坊书寓，少年时代的刘恭正暗恋如冰却一直没有表白，只是佟光夫和顾业成曾经代为牵线。如冰被离开皇宫的老太监明公公看中，要将她纳为夫人，并要求她代续香火以作赎身的交换。如冰为救刘恭正答应明公公要求，与刘恭正产下一儿一女，但两人终生未成亲。

Attempt to look at the Polish workers early seventies, their daily problems and concerns. After the protest in December 1970 years took place discredited Edward Gierek team and his companions, promising 'new Poland'. The workers, however, remain critical, suspicious, still eager to revolt. The original version of the film was never publicly shown. After the cuts and przemontowaniu - against the wishes of authors - created version called '' team ''( ''Gospodarze''), which was the issue of television.
