Inspired by William Blake's 'Songs of Innocence and Experience', 'The Caterpillar and Fly' was produced with school pupils based on one of their true stories of an adult's attempt to shield a child's innocence from the realities of the world. In a busy modern home, Oscar, the youngest child of three, is a shy boy who confides in his beloved pet hamster Blaze and the only member of the family who can give him any time, his grandad Stan. One day while Oscar is at school, Stan finds Blaze motionless in his cage. Stan knows Oscar will be heartbroken so conjures up an elaborate plot to protect Oscar from grief. But can we protect childhood innocence forever?

An isolated elderly woman, in desperate need of stimulation, conjures an infestation of silk-spinning caterpillars, thus leading her to a mind-bending epiphany. 'Caterpillar' is a cerebral drama, filmed in the historical Wynkoop House, famous for housing George Washington. This includes special effects artist, Ben Bornstein (300, The Fighter), visual effects artist Greg Silverman (Black Swan), and editor, Corey Bayes (Haywire, Contagion, The Informant, Che). From storyline through production, Caterpillar is an ode to the creative process. This film is a must-see for anyone who has ever submitted to their imagination and felt transformed by an idea.

故事以一只名叫凯蒂的毛毛虫想要出去冒险而展开，最后凯蒂终于如愿以偿成为了一只美丽的蝴蝶，故事中穿插着很多动听的歌曲，极具艺术感染力，不失为一部动画佳作。
