Another of a wartime cycle of Hollywood films lauding the praises of America's Soviet allies, Three Russian Girls is a remake of Russia's The Girl From Stalingrad. Set just after the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, the film stars Anna Sten as Natasha, a Red Cross volunteer who is dispatched to a field hospital located in an old pre-revolution mansion. American test pilot John Hill (Kent Smith), who'd been in Russia on a goodwill mission, is wounded in battle and brought to the hospital. As he slowly recovers from his wounds, Hill falls in love with Natasha. A last-act crisis develops when the hospital personnel are forced to move immediately to Leningrad as the Nazis advance.

Alexei is a nineteen year old recruit being flown in to perform his military service on the frontier of northern Russia. The base is one of few such remaining outposts on the Arctic Ocean. There are five other seasoned and long serving soldiers stationed here, each with their own personal story or secret that has caused them to retreat from the real world. Their training and breaking in of the new arrival is sometimes humorous, at times harsh. Gradually, they each reveal something of themselves in their daily interactions and private moments as they continue their absurd duty in this snow covered no man's land, hundreds of miles from the nearest human settlement.

俄罗斯之旅

乌苏里兰(Ussuriland)从锡霍特阿兰森林(Sikhote Alin forests)延伸到湍急的黑龙江。有两只罕见的东北花豹(Amur leopard)在乌苏里兰森林潜行，这种动物目前仅剩三十只，而且全都在俄罗斯这个远东区。亚洲黑熊悬挂在树上，花栗鼠(chipmunk)努力猎食，梅花鹿(spotted sika deer)则前往海滨吃海草。因为空旷地带出现梅花鹿，引来当地的大型掠食动物西伯利亚虎(Amur tiger)。然而这种动物自己也有可怕天敌，就是盗猎与栖息地遭到破坏。幸好坎卡湖溼地(Lake Khanka wetlands)已经渐渐走出污染，如今住着鹭群(herons)与中国鳖(Chinese soft-shelled turtle)。这里不只是陆面上有各式动物，水底动物的种类也很多，而且因为深谙伪装而活下来。

Vova和他最好的朋友Kisa为俄罗斯符拉迪沃斯托克的当地暴徒工作以维持生计，直到有一项任务迫使他们质疑自己的道德，并将他们的友谊置于终极考验。
