After the Trojan War a legendary hero Odysseus makes his valiant voyage at sea, trying to reach the shores of his beloved home. While he and his crew are protected by the goddess Athena, the sea god Poseidon is avenging the harm done to his son, the giant Cyclops, by inflicting such wrathful enemies as Circe and Scylla upon the men.

Odyssey follows Natasha Flynn, a sharp-tongued, coke-fuelled London estate agent, who juggles debts, danger, and deception. Her seemingly glossy life—flashy clothes, posh loft apartment, and endless champagne—hides a spiralling mess of broken dreams, addiction and a business on the brink of collapse. Enter Dan and Will, smooth-talking loan sharks with a sinister edge. Their offer? Easy cash, if she hides a kidnapped fellow estate agent. What follows is a wild, neon-soaked ride through London’s seedy underbelly, as Natasha searches for The Viking, an old ally with violent tendencies. A bloody, chaotic showdown ensues, leaving bodies—and morals—shattered.

In this story fish is a woman because she can grow a human in her womb. In fact, A Woman’s Odyssey is a symbolic narrative of a woman’s struggles and her journey to freedom. In this way, she dies many times and is reborn in a new form. The influence of Iran’s ancient culture in the creation of this story cannot be denied, for example, the combination of human and animal in the creation of the main character. The author of A Woman’s Odyssey has written the initial form of the story as a poem years ago in Iran, but her experiences of immigration and especially the recent “Women-Life-Freedom” movement in Iran had a final effect on the story. We see how living in the terror of war, discrimination, restriction and oppression under the heavy shadow of a dictatorial regime melts a person and finally changes them for survival.
