Gridley doesn't know that many people think she killed her husband but his boss, the American ambassador, knows and doesn't take this "lapse of judgement" lightly. 胡錦飾演牛家大院的女房東水仙，聽聞黃山溝打仗，難民都要逃難至此，便於丈夫牛魔王（雷鳴）商議把房子租給難民，賺取難民錢，之後便開始處處為難大院的租戶，逼迫他們離開。谷明倫飾演革命份子程新民，受了槍傷被一租戶救了下來，程新民說革命軍打了勝仗，難民都各自回家了，於是和租戶們商量好了對策將計就計，成功留在了牛家大院，還讓鐵公雞水仙每個月減租三毛錢。北洋軍閥的師爺逮捕了程新民，水仙聯合各租戶出錢出力，途中救出了程新民。
