Salvador Dalí considered Luminous Procuress ‘a work of genius’. Featuring members of legendary San Francisco performance troupe The Cockettes, the film was directed by the artist and filmmaker Steven Arnold, a muse and model of Dalí's. Dalí always referred to Arnold as his 'prince', and allegedly co-produced (or at least partly funded) the film, for which he held an elaborate screening at the St. Regis Hotel in New York. Andy Warhol and numerous luminaries of New York society attended the spectacular event, and Dalí projected the film upside down, backwards and sideways. The Village Voice called the film ‘a tour de force of the imagination – a journey through peekboxes of naked tableaux, theatres of mechanical dreams, feasts of monsters and piles of humanity.’

南纪白滨的温泉旅馆 “Mochikairou ”的女仆长伊久代（Ikuyo）通过让女仆庞比姬（Ponbiki）从事妓女工作而发家致富。一天，前关东升龙会成员三郎带着有孩子的妻子咪咪来到旅馆。他开了一家名为 “那波利 ”的歌舞厅，因为郁代抢走了他的客人而与她发生了冲突。咪咪是郁代的妹妹，但当她发现自己是三郎的情妇时，两人在相识五年后不欢而散。后来，郁代想出了对付升龙会的对策，正中靶心，生意又恢复了生机，但这时郁代的情人、泥头车司机秀夫却把咪咪从摩奇凯鲁拉出来的皮条客少女带到了那不勒斯，郁代去找他谈，但黑社会不是她的对手，她把她们弄丢了。就在这时，秀夫出了车祸，为了筹集修理费，他把自己托付给了迷恋郁代已久的报告文学作家山之部。与此同时，咪咪也成了升龙会干部阿久津的情人，但她被指控向郁代通风报信，让郁代与警察策划了一场最裸体的派对，被判入私人监狱，但被三郎所救，三郎中枪身亡。咪咪和郁代试图勒索阿久津和相泽，相泽是一个政治高手，曾让阿久津帮他走私手枪，但咪咪的孩子博子被劫持为人质，当他们去救博子时，遭到了跑车的袭击。
