骗子来到炎热的西部城镇，他对农民说，如果给他钱，他就能变出雨，在卡里的家里，他用各种各样怪异的声音加上一些无法形容的仪器开始作法，真的开始下雨了——这完全是一种巧合。那户人家的长女爱上了乐观的骗子，骗子开始迎合她并改变她孤寂的生活。两人差别很大的性格特点贯穿了电影的始终。

当年追求爱情的中国女孩周爽（王珞丹 饰）与父亲老周（吴天明 饰）大吵一架后夺门而出，远赴日本东洋。此去经年，周爽在日本靠着自己的力量拥有还算过得去的生活，儿子也聪明懂事。某日，儿子在隔壁公寓发现群聚的蚂蚁，俄而被人发现有位老人已孤独死亡。这件事给了周爽以极大的触动，她反复拨打家里的电话，却始终没有回应。焦虑万分的她带着儿子乘飞机返回阔别多年的祖国。她惊讶地发现，当年的老房子已经变成一片废墟。从父亲的徒弟——也算作她当年半个恋人的小崔（张译 饰）口中得知，四年前他家的房子便已拆迁，而父亲也查出患有癌症住进了老人院。正是树欲静而风不止…… 本片为张杨长片作品《飞越老人院》的番外篇。

Alicia Royale is a fashion mogul who decides to have a large pajama themed party as a promotion for her new line of clothing. At the party, the leading contender for the company spokesmodel is found dead in the swimming pool, apparently by suicide. Zoe Taylor does not agree and hires a private investigator named Dean Thomas to look into the death. Dean digs deeper and deeper into the world of modelling and finds out that it is a lot more than just taking pictures and smiling.

It tells the story of a young boy who is excluded from the rest of his classmates, the underlying reason for which is not made clear to start. He spends his time having to play in the corner of the classroom on his own, excluded from the group. The boy eventually befriends a girl in the class and invites her home to meet his talking pet raven. It is at this point that the boy's exclusion from the school group starts to become clear, as he reveals to his new friend the disruptive and abusive upbringing he has had to suffer at the hands of his parents.
