Freeform的家庭剧《寄养一家 The Fosters》第五季下半季于1月9日首播，该剧同时迎来了好消息和坏消息。先说坏消息，Freeform宣布不再续订该剧，让它在第五季收官；好消息是，Freeform批准拍摄三集剧终篇，预计夏季播出，同时还直接预订了13集的衍生剧首季。《寄养一家》衍生剧现已确定主角为Callie和Mariana（分别由Cierra Ramirez和Maia Mitchell饰演），剧情将讲述她们成年后的新生活。另外，据报道，《寄养一家》中的年轻角色至少会有一位加入衍生剧。

La famille Ferrière vit dans une grande maison en périphérie de Bordeaux et comprend également Jeanne, la tante de Daniel, Tim et Charlotte, les enfants, sans oublier Juliette, la fille aînée de Daniel qui vit en ville mais revient à la maison chaque fois que l'occasion se présente. Louise, quant à elle, est accueillie par la famille depuis l'âge de 2 ans, ses parents biologiques étant morts dans un accident de voiture. Ils l'adoptent par la suite.
