故事发生在抗日战争如火如荼的关键阶段，汪伪政府投敌叛变，中国人民处于水深火热之中，炎黄子孙的命运危在旦夕。上海明氏企业董事长明静（刘敏涛 饰）为人诚恳，暗中资助中共，其弟明楼（靳东 饰）在军统处担任特工，行踪神秘。姐弟俩的弟弟明泰（胡歌 饰）是一位受过良好教育的诗人，对政治毫无兴趣，然而在去香港的途中，却被军统高官王天峰绑架招揽。无奈之下，明泰只能微服私访接受训练，最终成为军统处上海站的一名特工。在随后的行动中，他与中共扫奸队程锦云（王乐君 饰）合作，两人也在行动中产生了非同寻常的信任与感情。 国内形势瞬息万变，这两个年轻人又将面临严峻的命运考验……
