地处郊外的一栋房子里，胡子拉碴的尼克（Christopher Nightingale 配音）正在准备餐点。客厅里坐着他年迈的母亲艾琳（Anne Cunningham 配音）。艾琳腿脚不便，日常起居全靠儿子的照顾。她养育了两个儿子，长子理查德（Alisdair Simpson 配音）事业有成，顺风顺水，偶尔过来看看母亲，轻松得意之情溢于言表。反观尼克，没有任何工作，并且也不是母亲所疼爱的那个孩子。他压抑着心中的愤怒，仍竭尽全力照顾母亲的点点滴滴。或许因为不受期待，尼克时常和意见相左的兄长、母亲争吵。但这又能改变什么呢？ 有些情感注定超越了语言而存在的。而有些真情，也注定通过生死才分外的清晰……

Lee Dong-woo meets this donor who can't move at all and can only see right ahead of him, then they plan a trip together. These men are the breadwinners of their families with beautiful daughters. They go to Jeju Island and learn a little bit about each other. The two start filling up each others' holes and find each other feeling comforted.

A Bolivian mother has emigrated to Spain in the hope of being able to keep her family out of abject poverty. When her family member died from Chagas, a life-threatening parasitic disease, she still has to earn for livings far away from her home country; In the Democratic Republic of Congo, where armed conflict is ongoing, women are still under the threat of being sexually assaulted by combatants; In Uganda, thousands of children cover long distances every night to search for places of refuge to avoid being kidnapped as child soldiers; patients suffering from sleeping sickness do not have access to the essential medicines; thousands of Colombian families who are victims of the violence perpetrated by their country's various armed groups on the rural population try hard to return to their homeland. With the help of Médecins Sans Frontières, five well-known directors have come together to give voice to the real-life protagonists of the film, the victims of five of the most under-reported crises.
