本季将聚焦丽兹·波顿和一起著名的血腥杀人案，“鹅妈妈童谣”里《丽兹波顿拿起斧头》所渲染的：“丽兹波顿拿起斧头/砍了她爸爸四十下/当她意识到自己做了什么/她砍了她妈妈四十一下。”波顿居住在19世纪的美国马萨诸塞州，1892年，时年33岁的她被控在家中用斧头谋杀了父亲和继母，场面血腥，而最终她被陪审团认定没有施行此案的体力和头脑，被宣判无罪。这起杀人案件和其判定引发了极大关注，在美国流行文化中也有重要地位，已多次被改编影视。

This is a loose adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel "Anna Karenina". Kazakh auteur Darezhan Omirbayev (July, Kairat, Killer, Cardiogram) here makes an attempt to juxtapose the classic plot and contemporary Kazakhstan reality.

Chouga is a beautiful, rich and beloved young woman. She is thirty and lives in Astana, the Kazak new capital. She is married to a famous scientist in his sixties and has a seven-year-old son. Her brother and sister-in-law live in Almaty. The couple is tearing apart and Chouga’s brother requests her to come and try to bring them back together. There she meets Ablaï, a rich and idle young man whom she strongly feels attracted to. Once back to Astana, Chouga tries to withstand this sensual attraction about which she has a premonition of a tragic outcome.

Although acquitted, it is common knowledge that the daughter, Lizzie Borden, is responsible for the savage evil act. The present day Lizzie Allen suffers from an extreme case of childhood amnesia which not only lays dark her childhood memories but also her relationship or lack there of, of her parents themselves. When Lizzie discovers the news of her father's death she inherits the house she once lived in...and therefore a new place to live. But as she begins to settle in she starts to get a glimpse of her childhood memories along with clues as to what really happened in the Borden household in 1892. We follow Lizzie's journey as she attempts to distinguish between the two and strives to reach her own sanity and happiness while doing so
