In Versillia's sandy beaches during the summer of 1956, a gawky adolescent, Sandro, spends his vacation by the sea, along with his family and the intriguingly beautiful Laura, wife of Sandro's older brother, Renzo. Under those circumstances, strange as it may seem, at first, Sandro seems annoyed by Laura's presence, however, little by little, as the two of them spend more and more time together at the beach, something will ignite a spark of interest in his sister-in-law. Sandro is determined to get what he wants, nevertheless, is Laura willing to give in?

翻拍自1957年台语片。小演员吴凤凤凭此片获得1968年第七届金马奖最佳童星。 游小华生长在一个原本快乐的农家，父亲游金生因为酒醉杀人被法院判处十年 监禁。小华五岁时，为了祖母的医药费用，被聘到远乡做童养媳，备受主人家虐待欺凌，逃亡 不成反被抓回关在牛栏里面，幸亏被七岁的“小丈夫”救出，两人双双逃走。小华父亲听到家 中变故，逃狱回家察看真相，深山中 巧遇小华，父女相见不相识。当警察追寻金生、金生下山 投案时，金生只要求警察准其回家，看过爱女小华以后再返回监狱，警察答应了这一请求。影片最后，在“一失足成千古恨，骨肉离分；再回头已百年身，绵绵此恨”的歌声中，小华含泪 泣别金生，可她并不知道这个再度入狱的逃犯，就是她日夜想念的生身父亲。

A politically pious sermonette. This film probably was brave for it's day, but, such films often get made when social conditions deem it necessary. (Hence the venereal-disease-warning films that were shown during WW2). As a political document it is interesting to see how it craftily avoids asking why, in a society in which political change was supposed to have brought sexual and social emancipation for all, as well as work for all, women should still need to sell sex in order to survive, and, like all other religions, the only message the so-called communism of the USSR had to offer was "don't do it". Pious and dreary, it has nothing to say, and what little it does say, is patronising and predictable. But, on the other hand, this was 1927..!
