All of Your Stars Are but Dust on My Shoes tracks the public administration of light and darkness as an essential policing tool. The video moves between cities like New York and Paris, with the artist's native Beirut setting the central pulse. Creating an associative genealogy that moves from whale oil lamps to gas lanterns to LED bulbs, from blackouts to curfews, the video is comprised of found footage and material from Aivazian’s own phone. Layering, splicing, and confronting disparate kinds of sound and image, the artist generates a sensorial meditation on how the fundamentals of human vision—light hitting the retina—were mechanized into tools that capture our movements, be it in everyday life or on screen. Our shoes go lots of places, across vast distances, and over many miles. But eventually, no matter how much we care for them, our shoes break down and usually get thrown away. Max Romey wanted to find out what happens to his old shoes, and in his film No Lost Shoes, highlights the full scale of the problem.

A raggedly dressed boy wearing a torn pair of pair of sneakers sits on a bench in a park feeling uncomfortable with his tennis shoes. He wanders in the park and when he returns, there is a boy with a brand new pair of sneakers sat on the bench. The ragged boy goes to another place with envy and wishes that he were the other boy. His wish is somehow granted and he switches body with the other boy and learns his health condition.
