A look back in time to the ancient beginnings of the art of self defense. A kingdom and ruler come under attack from hidden rebels attempting to assassinate and overthrow the ruler. In deadly combat scenes - one after another - the true hero overcomes vicious obstacles to ensure the life of the emperor.

本片跟随第一部的内容继续下去，陈真的弟弟叫陈善。开场送葬一段胡琴和板鼓，感觉要唱起来，电影刻画的日本人阴险毒辣，陈善的英勇无畏的爱国精神，法租界警探的心理揣测，精武门人物被屈受辱等细节更是淋漓尽致。结尾的打斗明显不是太狠，没有双截棍的精彩片段真是可惜，罗烈还在最后表演了一回没有血腥场面的切腹。而结局是很美好而又悲惨的。
