A stern indictment of the shabby ways in which society treats it recovering ex-criminal class, Die Verrufenene follows the saga of an engineer recently sprung from prison as he attempts to rebuild his life. Having served out his three-year sentence, Robert Kramer embarks on getting back to work and living a clean, honest life. He finds that getting back into society is more difficult than he bargained for, however, when he is shunned by his father and the wealthy family of his ex-fiancee, Gerda. Scraping by in the city slum, working for an indifferent rag maker who prefers to pay in booze over cash, the dejected Robert decides to end it all. He's saved, however, by a kind-hearted prostitute named Emma, who shelters the man in the modest apartment she shares with her ne'er-do-well brother, Gustav. Eventually, Robert starts to patch his life back together through the help of Emma (who becomes enamoured with Robert) and a generous old photographer who employs him as an assistant. His world gets upended once again, however, when Gustav is implicated in the murder of one of Emma's clients.

《Slumdog Metal In Cambodia》(中文名：贫民窟金属噪响)讲述了两个出生于金边贫民窟的孤儿，原本靠捡拾垃圾为生，后经NGO组织救助后终于不用再担心生存问题。 但俩人正处于狂躁的青春期，再加上破碎的家庭过往折磨着他们的内心，他们成为了让人头疼的麻烦制造者。一日，NGO的工作人员带他们看了场地下金属乐队的演出，没想到一扇新的大门向他们打开，振聋发聩的极端金属从此改变了他们的生活。他们组建了一只名叫Doch Chkae（高棉语：像狗一样）的乐队，经历了疯狂的排练与磨合，一年后他们正式进入金边的地下音乐场景，并迅速的在圈内占有一席之地。 他们的歌词总是和狗有关，如同乐队名Doch Chkae，他们用音乐描述、嘶吼自己如同狗一样的生活。 Doch Chkae means "like a dog" in Khmer It’s also the name of the death metal band founded by two orphans born in the slums of Phnom Penh. Theara, the lead singer of Doch Chkae grew up together with the guitarist Vichey. They ate and drink and slept in these garbage-covered slums. Theara and Vichey dropped out of school when they were 9 years old. They drove garbage trucks around the city and made a living picking up waste. Because of the involvement of the international NGO “Mom Against Poverty”, Theara and Vichey were able to continue their studies and no longer had to worry about making a living. However, by the time they hit puberty, they became more and more trouble and became a liability for their teachers. Timon Seibel, the manager of the NGO, sometimes goes to rock venues in Phnom Penh. Once after watching a death metal show, Timon suddenly had an idea – ‘Why not introduce extreme metal music to Theara and Vichey?’ So Timon brought Theara and Vichey to a death metal show. The screaming and the fierce mosh pits stunned and completely overwhelmed them. Then Theara and Vichey locked themselves in the music room, rehearsed and wrote songs crazily. The anger in their heart was venting in the screaming and drums. After more than one year of rehearsals, Doch chkae officially entered the underground music scene in Phnom Penh and quickly gained a place and garnered die hard fans. Their lyrics are always related to dogs, just like their band name - Doch chkae. They use music to describe their lives as dogs.
