抗战胜利后，少年陈国璇和军中战友梁清住在堂叔陈奕泉家中，他们三人感情深厚，亲如手足。国璇受华侨章世伯委托，要去寻找其在广州的女儿绮云，并且答应会娶绮云为妻。此时，绮云母亲去世，她辗转来到香港，还受到六姨妈的逼迫，成为了交际花，常常遭受他人的轻薄与欺凌。有一天，绮云为了摆脱七姨妈之子麦星群的纠缠，遇到了街头叫卖的梁清。梁清顿生怜惜之情，把绮云带回了家。没想到绮云对国璇心生爱慕，可国璇并不知道绮云就是章世伯的女儿，反而让梁清与她多亲近。后来，星群查到了绮云的下落，到奕泉家挟持她回俱乐部。国璇回家后，得知绮云被掳走，便借助灵犬云尼的帮助，找到了俱乐部。国璇寡不敌众，云尼赶忙回家求救，梁清随即报警一同前往，将星群等人拘捕。这时，章世伯来到香港，父女得以重逢……
