Stephen Baker/Barker/Parker (the name is pronounced distinctly all three different ways) is aided by the magic of Taoist Collins, an expert in keung si, to cheat his way into becoming the Gambling King. He challenges Myer, a gambling master to a dice match with their lives as the stakes, and wins via cheating. Even though Stephen cheated, Myer keeps his word and shoots himself, much to the consternation of his son, Leslie. Rose Myer, the ghost of his wife, individually comes to her brothers-in-law, Roger (a ninja in white), and Ken (a nerdy ninja in green, who also disguises himself as a keung si and a Taoist priest at various points) and wants her husband's death avenged. Collins sends his keung si after the two of them, while Leslie Myer and his father's best friend seek out the help of James Webber, a master gambler who became an alcoholic after losing one time. Ernö Metzner, the art director for G. W. Pabst’s Pandora’s Box (1928), himself co-wrote (along with Grace Chiang) and directed Police Report: Assault. Although the film’s protagonist is a coin, I will refer to the pop-eyed man who picks it up off the street as the protagonist; but when the police at the last ask him to identify whoever assaulted him and he imagines the coin spinning in space, we the audience know what he blames. Metzner’s middling short film, set in Berlin, depicts desperate, impoverished lives in Weimar Germany. It would seem that the protagonist’s luck has picked up once he finds the coin by the curb that we know many other passers-by missed; but we also know that the coin’s previous owner collapsed before losing it to the street. Indeed, once he tries buying cigarettes with it, the protagonist discovers that the coin, as currency, is obsolete. What to do? The man slips it into a game of dice and wins. However, he is pursued through the street by someone else who is financially desperate, and who is toting a club. Two more stressed persons, a thin-lipped prostitute and her pimp, first, provide protection for the protagonist and then danger, once they also try to rob him. It is his original stalker, though, who gives the protagonist a whack across the noggin that causes his head, at the launch of an expressionistic passage, to stretch itself into distorted mirror-images.

敖天龙、大贵与梦梦师承同门。天龙与大贵同时恋上梦梦，师父试两人对梦梦之感情，论说梦梦已有身孕。故事开大贵与梦梦成亲，其子运高亦已十八岁，醉心研究科学，加上一个老仆寿伯，在纸扎铺搞出不少笑料。天龙则与养女凝霜一向避居塞外，却因赶路回中原祭师父，途中遇上“红袍火鬼”害人。两父女奋力将火鬼收服，困于“禹鼎”之中。运高试验吸收空间之电波，怎知阴错阳差，将女鬼素文引入后园井中。运高发现女鬼素文，不久即被大贵与梦梦撞破，素文要等重阴节夜才可还乡，故留在大贵家中。天龙与大贵相遇并住在他家中，有日，运高错手打碎素文藏身之鼎，被天龙发现，与大贵争执之中，又不慎将火鬼放出，之后火鬼上了素文之身鬼法大增，众人合力抵挡，最后借师父之遗物加强法力，收服了火鬼。众人又用六甲守魂术，将素文之魂放入守魂灯中，送魂还乡，投胎做人。
