本片講述的是由木村拓哉主演的太郎是一位玩世不恭的頑皮鬼，每天都給家裏帶來麻煩。一心想讓弟弟成材的姐姐想子，決定跟太郎談談，卻不知遭到弟弟的諷刺，兩人於是打了起來驚動了隔壁的父親和繼母，遭到了譴責。在一次騎馬中太郎把姐姐借來的馬給摔死了，導致嚴重的後果，太郎也因此患上了疾病。在經過醫院的詳細檢查發現已經到了晚期。在這段時間姐弟倆更是形影不離。姐姐細心地照顧著生命垂危的弟弟，笑在臉上，痛在心裏，最後太郎就這樣在姐姐的呵護下靜靜的睡著了。
