Nineteen people of varying age, race and sex gather in tight physical proximity, as a compact human mob, when without warning a gushing onslaught of water from both sides of the screen knocks them into one another and down to the ground.

This is a brilliant surrealistic film. But also a fully realistic story about a time when the brave avant-guarde artists were trying to explore the unknown landscapes of human possibilities. The contrast between two realities: the poor village and the dadaist artists is shown very smart and brings the possibility of changing the world by the art. Unfortunately, that progressive ideals of making the world better by revealing new areas of imagination, that ruled in the first half of XX century, were crushed by the war. And, the tragedy finishes: the artistic ideals are dead, international art brotherhood also, but, as a real disaster: Yugoslavia is also dead, as a country, but as an artistic vision of nation's brotherhood, too. So, the art falls apart

En 1816, après la chute de Waterloo et alors que Louis XVIII s'installe sur le trône de France, une frégate "La Meduse" quitte le porte de Rochefort sous les ordres du commandant Chaumareys avec à son bord le futur gouverneur du Senegal, et sa famille. Chaumareys est un personnage fantasque, autoritaire et contradictoire. Malgré les avertissements du lieutenant Coudein, il provoque par beau temps l'échouage du vaisseau. On connaît la suite qui provoque des remous politique et permis au peintre Géricault de fixer pour l'éternité l'errance des damnés du radeau de "La Meduse".
