邪恶组织铁面具党（鉄面党）在万国机械人博览会上，强行夺取了各国的机械人和专家。他们将各国机械人改造成战斗用机械人，进而开启征服世界的计划。其中，日本的红健一郎博士及其设计的机械人铁金刚（レッドバロン）未被夺走。然而，红健一郎博士惨遭铁面具党杀害，所幸他把弟弟红健的资料输入铁金刚内，于是红健成为世界上唯一能操纵铁金刚的人。后来，红健加入兄长所属的科学秘密特搜队（SSI），以阻止铁面具党的阴谋。

1937年冬天，淞沪之战落幕，上海沦陷。为了帮助几个我党游击队员炸毁日军的军火船，运出被扣押的医药物资，会计师徐天被裹入了一场突如其来的厮杀。共产党人前仆后继的精神感染了徐天。原本只想过普通人平凡生活的他，想要尝试着帮助这些革命者完成未完的心愿，将这批医药物资和一本记载党员名单的红色小册子转交到党组织手中。从此，徐天开始了与日本军官影佐、总华捕老料、黑社会金爷等几方势力的几番较量，一次次险象环生。虽然环境艰难，但徐天并未放弃，想到那些勇敢牺牲的共产党员，就给了孤军奋战的徐天战斗的勇气。在党组织的帮助下，最后徐天打败了影佐，成功将医药物资和红色小册子交给党组织。同时，在行动中提高了自己的觉悟，最终光荣地成为了一名中国共产党员，成就了一段浪漫的红色传奇。

Director Rahul Jain filmed the grueling daily routine in just one of the many textile factories there. In the factory, man and machine seem to have fused into one being. It is dark and dank, and barely any daylight penetrates the space. The labor is heavy and mind-numbing, and the work days seem endless. We are drawn into a gloomy world where the cacophonous beat of machinery sets the rhythm of toil. Jain is as interested in the mysterious connection between worker and product (the fabrics are treated mechanically, but also with love) as he is in the degrading conditions. Each shift lasts 12 hours, for adults and children alike, and wages are extremely low. Short interviews are interspersed throughout the observational sequences, some of which are captivating in their beauty while others are painful to watch – such as when we see a boy nodding violently in his struggle to stay awake.
