殺し屋の南条は、毛という男に殺しの仕事を頼まれて香港に来た。しかし目的の男を射殺し、指定されたホテルに金を受けとりにいってみると、彼を待っていたのは女の死体だった。警察の追求をのがれて毛を探すうちに、南条は遊園地の賭け台で缶詰めを射止め、そこで缶詰めをぜひ買いたいという中国服の女明蘭に呼びとめられた。不審に思った南条が宿へ帰って調べて見ると、それは数億の値打ちの麻薬だった。翌日、南条は缶詰めを宿の少女小紅に預けると明蘭が待つアパートを訪ねた。南条はそこで、麻薬と交換に明蘭のボス蒋から、毛の居所を知らせてもらう約束をした。しかし明蘭は、麻薬の横取りを企み、南条をたくみにだまし、麻薬が小紅のところにあることを聞き出して小紅を殺して麻薬を強奪した。明蘭の情報から、毛が横浜にいることを探り出した南条は、横浜に帰るが、毛は一足ちがいで香港へ帰った後だった。再び香港へ戻った南条は、小紅を訪ねるが、そこで小紅が殺されたことを知る。毛を探して賭博場に来た南条は、そこで、勝った賭け金と交換に、毛の情報を聞き出すが、そこで蒋に会い、決闘を申しこまれた。蒋は南条が薬を持ち逃げしたと思い、又南条も、小紅殺しの張本人は蒋だと思っていたので、二人は怒り狂って闘う、がなお言い争ううちにそれが、明蘭の裏切りであることが解り二人は和解した。そして南条は蒋から毛のアジトを聞き出し、指定のホテルで、毛を待ちうけて復讐を果した。しかし南条も毛の手下に腹を射ち抜かれ、かけつけたパトカーの中で一人息を引きとるのだった。
