Adults, but seldom treated as such: that's the dilemma facing this group of friends with Down syndrome, in this warm and compassionate documentary. When we first meet Anita, she's justifiably frustrated with her boring kitchen job and overprotective parents – she's been attending the same school for 40 years. Things start to look up when she begins a romance with the courteous Andrés and the loving duo dream of doing what everyone else does, including marriage and having a family. Their friend Ricardo works part-time and also has plans for the future. The school encourages its mature students to be responsible adults, but do they really have any say in their future? This is not a sombre film – it's full of joy and intimacy, a recurring quality in the work of talented Chilean director Maite Alberdi (Tea Time, SFF 2015). A fascinating parade of strong characters – feisty Anita, entrepreneurial Ricardo, suave Andres, and Rita, "smarter than your average bear" each confronting a series of touching challenges as Alberdi looks at lives lived under neverending restraint. – Fionnuala Halligan, Screen International

For four outcast teens, summer detention means being assigned to clean their high school after a horrific incident. But they are not alone; a macabre gang wearing guises of The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse - Famine, Pestilence, War and Death - has locked them inside and is hunting them through the school's ravaged hallways. As the four students battle to survive, each must confront the supernatural echoes of past traumas they have struggled to forget - and may be condemned to relive.

THE POETS is a documentary that follows two acclaimed West African poets, and lifelong friends, Syl Cheney-Coker and Niyi Osundare as they travel through their home countries of Sierra Leone and Nigeria to explore what has shaped their art. As the film unfurls, they find answers all around them; in the stunning landscapes, the culture, the history, political strife, terrible tragedies, their family homes, and their friendship. Weaved with the poetry of Cheney-Coker and Osundare, The Poets is an exploration of how art is shaped by life experiences, and of the power and urgency of art in the face of political adversity.

Wonderful piece of film noire. Great acting, París, well, as beautiful as ever. Love the plot gaps, force you to thunk. To imagine. The whole story is never revealed. Highly recommended. Marie is delicious.
