In his most exotic and extreme adventure yet, Simon Reeve travels around the edge of the beautiful Indian Ocean in this forthcoming, epic new 6 x 1hr BBC2 TV series. Starting his journey in South Africa, Simon travels around the coast of the Indian Ocean, heading up the east coast of Africa, around India and back down the western coast of Indonesia to SW Australia. The extraordinary adventure takes Simon to 16 countries, as he braves the horrors of frontline conflict in Mogadishu in Somalia, perhaps the most dangerous place on the planet, and visits the beautiful Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles. On his journey Simon travels by boat, car, train and plane. He encounters pirates, dives with sharks, patrols with Dutch Special Forces, goes underwater spear-fishing, dines in an underwater restaurant, stumbles into a seedy drug-den, visits a 5-star seaside palace housing thousands of refugees, meets a Yorkshireman on his Seychelles island paradise, and has close encounters with the amazing wildlife of the Indian Ocean, including lemurs, penguins, dolphins, elephants and manta rays. Throughout the epic journey, Simon travels with his trademark enthusiasm, humour and curiosity, exploring parts of the world few other outsiders get to see. The Indian Ocean BBC film-crew accompanying him have been capturing stunning images around the ocean from land, sea and air, ensuring this series will be one of the major TV travel events of 2012.

The new 2x60 minutes series, titled Ireland With Simon Reeve, follows Simon as he travels around the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland - one of the most beautiful islands in the world: a place steeped in culture, history and belief, but one with a complex and troubled past. The series will look at how centuries of religion, history and politics have shaped life there and still affect people today. Across the series Simon will uncover a place of myths and spirituality, alongside a modern state still attempting to work out its identity and values: a multicultural place where communities no longer just define themselves along Protestant and Catholic lines.

In this two-part series, Simon Reeve travels to Greece, one of the most beautiful, troubled, and extreme countries in Europe. Travelling from the Islands of the Aegean to the rugged and mountainous north, Simon gets behind the picture-postcard image to learn more about Greece and the Greeks - and why the country has faced a seemingly endless economic crisis. Along the way he encounters an extraordinary cast of characters, from rebel monks and gun-toting priests, to desperate migrants and an injured bear cub. The first leg of Simon Reeve’s journey around Greece takes him from the holiday islands of the Aegean to the capital city of Athens. Off the tiny island of Pserimos Simon goes underwater with the divers who still hunt for the sea creature which made these islands rich: the natural sponge. He hears how the island’s population is struggling in the face of declining stocks and the wider economic crisis. Travelling onto Lesvos, just a few miles from the Turkish coast, Simon encounters another of the huge challenges facing the country: the migrant crisis. The island has become Europe’s frontline, with thousands of refugees arriving daily, fundamentally changing the lives of the islanders. On Greece’s largest island, Crete, Simon heads to the rugged mountains where every shepherd is armed and the local priest is also head of the local gun club. Camping out under the stars Simon learns how for Cretans, memories of Germany’s role in the Second World War still colour their view of the Greek debt crisis. In Athens, Simon investigates the effects of that crisis. He hears how hard life is for an impoverished community living in converted shipping containers, and in the city he is confronted by angry protesters - and sees just how quickly these protests can descend into a riot.

第二次世界大战时期，一艘英国军事运输船"雷北利号"，满载反法西斯的军火行驶在印度洋上。除船长和少数船员是英国人外，轮机长、水手长、二副等均是中国人。轮机长庄海泉的儿子、二副庄三更是未婚妻唐媚及一个流落异国的中国渔女海石花也搭乘此船回国。不料，这条船遭到敌舰的袭击而沉没，船长及一些船员牺牲，轮机长庄海泉带领幸存的船员漂泊到一座死岛上。因岛上没有淡水，大家只能将仅存的几桶淡水每天分一点来维持生命。机械师李英民因忍受不了缺水的痛苦而抢水喝，遭到大家斥责。面对死亡，英国船员保罗忍受不了而自杀。　　为了寻找食物，海石花尝树叶中毒身亡。二副庄三更也贪生怕死，深夜偷走仅存的淡水和食物，打算同恋人唐媚一起驾船逃命，但遭拒绝。他不听唐媚劝告，独自驾船逃走，庄海泉举起枪忍痛惩处了判逃的亲生儿子。李英民为弥补抢水的过失，试验成功了用空气浮箱蒸馏淡水，为大家解决了饮水的问题，还能洗上澡。为求生路，大家都争着出海去送信，水手长章水厚建议用抓阄儿的办法决定人选。章水厚按人数拣来石子，只在一个石子上标明记号，让大家抓，但一个个都没有抓准。章水厚紧紧攥着最后一粒石子，表现出被他抓准的自信神情。大家信以为真，但庄海泉夺过石子一看，原来上面什么标记也没有。　　他一下子明白了章水厚的用意，无限钦敬这位同生死共患难战友的高尚品质。壮行酒洒向大海，人们目送着出海送信的章水厚。时间一天天过去了，巨浪拍打着海滩，大家由希望变为失望，盼到的只是由远处漂来的一块破碎船板。第二次出海的木排又钉好了，大家以同样的心情目送唐媚与区四斤出海，他们的身影渐渐消失在大海里。海浪打掉了船帆，把木排推进了惊涛骇浪之中，他们一次次晕眩昏死过去，最后终于到达放邮瓶的地方。他俩放出装有求救信的邮瓶，完成了任务，坦然而快慰地唱起了渔歌。木排在茫茫大海中漂泊着摔打着，红色救生衣在水面上显得格外耀眼。死岛上终于传来了飞机的隆隆声，这声音给人们带来了生的希望，大家一片欢腾，而庄海泉却向大海呼唤着唐媚与区四斤的名字，这喊声震撼了每个人的心。
