本片是由著名演员黄磊监制，青年导演张林子执导的中央电视台电影频道贺岁电影。 八十年代的中国处于改革开放的初期，人们文化生活匮乏。从香港和台湾引入的流行音乐及流行文化在中国大陆引起了强烈的反响，影响了一整代人。其中，那首改编自Modern Talking《Brother Louie》的《路灯下的小女孩》更是红遍大江南北。本片的故事灵感便来源于这首歌曲。 1987年，8岁的小女孩桃桃父母离异，桃桃因为想见爸爸而离家出走。曾认为自己没人要的桃桃，在这趟旅途中，最终明白了自己并不孤单，有很多人在关心她和爱护她，陪伴她一直成长下去。

在一部纪录片拍摄期间，受人爱戴的交通督导员舍恩（Cheun）与当地一名督察发生了冲突。在克里尼昂古尔大街，他的辞职就像路灯熄灭一样令人震惊。在这种新的黑暗中，电影人必须重新发现自己的人性，而舍恩必须继续创造他的电影。其余的并不重要。

《The Ticket》是一部奇幻的爱情电影，讲述了年轻情侣Vince和Emma原本计划去码头庆祝生日，却因途中一场小车祸而耽搁了时间，他们能否赶在十点前履行约定到达码头，获得最后的机会。

Min Ji-suk runs a "ticket bar"where customers can purchase tickets for certain "services"in the town of Sokcho in Gangwon-do. She hires Miss Yang (Ahn So-young), Miss Hong (Lee Hye-young), and Se-young (Jeon Se-young) through the employment agency. Miss Yang and Miss Hong, who are well experienced in this type of business, are used to accepting propositions from customers. But Se-young, who is dating a college student named Min-su, rejects all requests for sexual favors. When Min-su professes to having problems with his tuition and finances, Se-young reassures him that she will procure the necessary funds for him. When the bar's clientele begins to dwindle because of Se-young, Ji-suk reprimands her severely. Se-young develops a close relationship with a Captain Pak and even allows him to sleep with her. She asks Captain Pak to find Min-su employment on a boat, but when Min-su comes to Sokcho for his new job, he sees how Se-young has been making her living. Shocked, he turns his back on the job and leaves. When he eventually returns to Sokcho, he scathingly denounces Se-young's morality and severs their relationship. Decades ago, Ji-suk had stumbled into the bar business in a desperate effort to support her husband, who was serving time in prison; she later left him voluntarily out of shame and moral degradation. Concerned that Se-young will end up with the same fate, Ji-suk asks Min-su to meet with her. She begs him not to abandon Se-young, but he flatly refuses. Ji-suk reacts by pushing Min-su into the sea, and suffers a mental breakdown that lands her in a psychiatric institution.

'Aida Returns' is a poignant, sometimes sad, sometimes painful, sometimes humorous, often absurd story of a multiple journey: the journey of loss as the director’s mother Aida struggled with losing herself to Alzheimer’s disease, but finding solace in her repeated “returning” to the Yafa and Palestine of her youth; the journey of the loss of a parent; and the ultimate return journey back to Yafa where Aida would finally find rest and be herself once more. Close to four years after Aida’s passing away, the director’s friend and colleague Tanya who lives in Ramallah came to visit Beirut. When she heard about Aida’s wishes and yearning for Yafa, Tanya suggested that she herself carries the ashes back. The film accompanies director Carol Mansour as she engineers a way to return her mother to Yafa in search of eternal rest and peace for her. A return that is aided by an unlikely set of friends and strangers all coming together to facilitate what should have been a simple journey. This journey is at the same time very private and personal, while resonating with hundreds of thousands of Alzheimer’s sufferers and their families as well as hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees awaiting their return home. 'Aida Returns' is a tribute to the lost past of the director’s family, an attempt to restore part of both an individual and a collective memory, and a poetic nod and affirmation to all those exiled Palestinians forbidden from returning to their hometowns, even after death.
