On one of these beautiful days, Nanette, a fourteen-year-old peasant girl, meets a slightly injured young man near the farm she lives on. Named Claude, he claims to be an English paratrooper, sent there to organize resistance to the Nazis. Although her parents have taught her to worship Pétain and the Germans and hate the English, Nanette accepts to hide him in the attic. Day after day she brings him food and cares for him. It does not take long before she falls in love with him and discovers the ecstasy of physical love. But after she has helped Claude to come into contact with the local resistance fighters, he disappears.

Hosanna, or 'Save us now', raises a serious question of saving a corrupt world. The film begins with a scene showing the boy's special power to revive a frog rolled over by a car (as a short without cuts). 　　He also cuts his arm and feeds the blood to a mother in a vegetative state to continue her life. The villagers commit suicide, get injured or suffer from illness. And the boy extends a helping hand to heal them against the shadow of death covering the village. However, his good will does not save the village. The revived people feel sick and tired of living, so they fight, kill and are killed again. 　　Hosanna is a silent scream of a saviour weighed down by impossible salvation. The boy's attempt to save others is not so different from the punishment of Sisyphus. Who will save this world? Who will save the saviour in the corrupt world? Standing out for its dry gaze at the world, Hosanna would surely be remembered as the most controversial work among Korean short films in 2014. (Ahn Sihwan)
