女孩尚未出生，就在妈妈的肚子里和爸爸交上了朋友，爸爸时常逗得她哈哈大笑。而在出生后，她更是从爸爸那儿得到了许多快乐，度过愉快无忧的童年。 　　女孩渐渐长大，和妈妈之间的矛盾多了起来，慢慢老去的爸爸也不再是她快乐的源泉，爸爸和她同时被孤独笼罩。遇到心中的白马王子后，女孩找到人生的另一番乐趣，远离了爸爸妈妈。结婚生子时，女孩意识到爸爸妈妈是生命中的不可或缺。

Three generations of women discuss their inner emotions and their interaction with society in this drama from longtime Jean-Luc Godard protégé Anne-Marie Mieville. She uses the sudden editing stops seen in Godard's early work to tell the story of these noble women who live in a world dominated by incurably egomaniacal men who are incapable of satisfying the basic needs of women. Odile (Helene Rousel) is the grandmother, whose job with a car salesman has turned into a necessity she can't afford to give up. Agnes (Anny Romand), Odile's 40-year-old daughter is an intellectual who never married. Although she has had relationships with men, she is seriously questioning their usefulness at this stage in her life. Granddaughter Angele (Gaele le Roi) is a 20-year-old vocal student who contemplates having a child to keep her relationship alive with a boyfriend who is not ready for the responsibilities of fatherhood.

The first scenes are set in some deserted beach along the east coast of Spain, perhaps in the late 70's, early 80's. Toni, the not-so-well-behaved brother is left abandoned there by his brother Charli and Toni's girlfriend Julia. Ten years later, Charli is a successful insurance salesman, and he´s married to Julia. They never heard from Toni, until one day, by chance, they come across each other. Toni is as wild as ever, an aged delinquent, who will later find out he's got a terminal leukemia. Thats when Charli tries to give his brother's life some purpose, and to make up for lost time. The leit-motiv of this movie is the dicotomy good/evil between the two brothers. Charlie, the hard worker whose soul was long lost to his company's commercial objectives. Toni's conscience works in strange ways, allowing him to save an old man's life but also to steal his wallet. Although it's not a masterpiece, it's a well worth watching movie, especially for the actors performances and for the beautiful sets in the spanish "Costa Brava".
